I am a first-generation college student who grew up in the Port of Los Angeles, San Pedro. I received my bachelor's in marine science from CSU Monterey Bay, and then spent some time working with the Department of Fish and Wildlife. While trying to figure out what I was truly passionate about, I did many short-term jobs and internships working with a variety of animals. I thoroughly enjoyed doing the jobs that involved field work and research and decided to pursue a master's degree. I am extremely excited to be here! The animals I enjoyed working with the most have been horned lizards, zebras, wolf-dogs, American Kestrels, harbor seals, and elephant seals! I will be a student in Dr. Ellen Hines' lab.
