D'Andre "DJ" Alejandro

It’s with great honor to say that I am a Bay Area native growing up next to an ocean. Before completing my Bachelor’s degree at CSU East Bay, I completed my undergraduate experience by participating in the CSU Marine Biology semester at USC Wrigley's Institute for Environmental Science on Catalina Island. The subsequent years were spent supporting teaching and administrative roles with The Marine Science Institute, an educational non-profit in Redwood City, CA.
 
As a member of RIPTIDES incoming cohort, I’m thrilled to join Dr. Hines and her lab where I'll be investigating the potential risks microplastics have on ocean food webs.
