Alex Bevan is a native Californian originally from Rough and Ready, CA. She has coordinated undergraduate field courses for the University of California Santa Cruz in various locations across California and Baja California, MX. She has also worked for the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary where she organized the 2022 Beyond the Golden Gate Research Symposium. She is currently a California Sea Grant State Fellow at Caltrans District 4 working as an environmental planner and acting fish passage coordinator. Her thesis research focuses on using new innovative drone technology to survey and model fine-scale species distribution of Antillean manatees off the coast of Belize City.
