Anthony Donahue

Anthony graduated from Unity College with a B.S. in Marine Biology & Sustainable Aquaculture in the fall of 2021. Shortly after graduating he worked as a lab assistant at the UC Davis – Fish Conservation & Cultivation Laboratory during the spawning season cultivating Delta smelt and Longfin smelt to supplement the wild populations in the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta. He is currently working as a lab assistant at UC Berkeley for the Department of Molecular & Cell Biology in the Isacoff Lab, which utilizes Zebrafish as models to analyze the development and function of neural circuits. He is looking forward to conducting research in Dr. Michelle Jungbluth’s lab using high-throughput sequencing to investigate the variability in food web connections between zooplankton and larval fishes, and how this information can be utilized to restore the wetlands of the San Francisco Estuary. Anthony also enjoys going on hikes with his daughter from the Suisun Bay – along the Carquinez Strait – to the San Pablo Bay.
