Carl Hendrickson
I graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in Integrative Biology. After graduating, I worked at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) located at the Romberg Tiburon Campus, sampling plankton along the West Coast. I also worked at the California Academy of Sciences. My Master’s research investigates the effects of Living Shorelines Restoration Projects (LSPs) on eelgrass restoration. I want to understand how different designs and layouts of the LSPs affects their ecosystem services, how these services could help counter the impacts of climate change. I am also interested in connecting research science to restoration management, by working with agencies to tailor scientific research to answer specific restoration questions. I am co-advised by Dr. Karina Nielsen and Dr. Kathy Boyer.
