Prior to beginning the IMES program, I completed an undergraduate degree in biology with the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, where I investigated Lithobates capito population dynamics in response to wildfire suppression. Currently, I am exploring varying concentrations of organic alkalinity across multiple shallow water habitats within San Francisco Bay, in pursuit of building a more comprehensive understanding of total alkalinity and buffering capacity in estuaries. I am concerned and interested in the fate of natural habitats in response to climate change and growing human populations. After completing my degree, I plan to continue investigating these concerns and to educate others about demanding environmental issues.
